The NFL editors of FanSided have spoken, and they all pretty much agree: Adrian Peterson had a hell of a season. Well yeah. He went over 2,000 yards. Almost got to Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record. Pretty much destroyed the league for a huge stretch, reserving some of his most beastly running for the Packers. Oh and he did this coming off major knee surgery.

What else is there to say? Adrian is the man. He was the main force behind the Vikings’ resurgence. There would’ve been no shocking playoff run without Adrian. He was the best player in the league this year. Appropriately, he cleaned up in the FanSided postseason awards. The editors named him OPOY and MVP. Needless to say I voted him #1 in both categories. I also voted him #1 in comeback player of the year. He ended up tying in this category with Peyton Manning.

Here’s how it broke down. MVP went to Peterson over Peyton Manning, with J.J. Watt coming in a distant third. Peterson beat Manning handily in OPOY with Calvin Johnson coming in third. Like I said, Manning and Peterson tied in comeback player. DPOY went to J.J. Watt by a wide margin over Von Miller with Alson Smith coming in third. Offensive Rookie of the Year went to Robert Griffin III over Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson. Defensive Rookie of the Year went to Janoris Jenkins with Luke Kuechly and Casey Hayward rounding out the top 3.
