Whoever invented the term “the more the merrier” must’ve been looking into the future at the Vikings’ 2013 Pro Bowl contingent. That contingent stood at six as of Friday morning. And now it stands at seven after the last-second addition of left tackle Matt Kalil to the team. Kalil replaces Trent Williams of the Redskins who dropped out. I think every original member of the team has now dropped out except the four Vikings. And Jeff Saturday who is the one guy who totally does not belong there.
For those keeping score, the full Vikings posse at the Pro Bowl now includes Adrian Peterson (and his orange peanut), Chad Greenway, Blair Walsh, Jared Allen, Kyle Rudolph, Jerome Felton and Kalil. With only 48 hours remaining till kickoff, there’s plenty of time for John Sullivan, Harrison Smith and possibly Phil Loadholt to also get the call. Hell, just make the NFC team all Vikings. I wouldn’t mind watching one last Viking game before the long offseason. I’m sure they can take that AFC team. There’s nothing but crap on that team. Mostly Chiefs.
