Brett Favre has a unique ability to tick off Packer fans. Don’t look now but the legendary former Packer has done it again. The Cheeseheads are once again angry at Brett Favre after learning that Favre offered Greg Jennings advice while Jennings was mulling leaving Green Bay for Minnesota. Jennings says he exchanged several phone calls and (presumably safe-for-work) texts with Favre before making up his mind to sign with the Vikings. Jennings told KFAN:

"Literally, as I got off the plane and (offensive coordinator Bill) Musgrave walked up to me, I’m on the phone with Brett. I spoke with Brett two or three times throughout this process. He shot me straight. I knew if there was one person that would shoot straight and tell me exactly what I wanted to hear and things I possibly didn’t want to hear, it would be Brett. He did that for me."

Did Favre’s sage counsel legitimately sway Jennings in his decision? I would seriously doubt it. I’m guessing Zygi Wilf’s money was the main factor. And the chance to play with Christian Ponder who is a much better quarterback than Aaron Rodgers. That was a joke, Packer fans. Lighten the hell up.

No seriously, what is up with Packer fans? They are throwing so much hate around right now it’s not even funny. What’s hilarious is that, before Jennings left, there were so many Packer fans acting like he wasn’t any good and they didn’t need him. Now he’s gone and he’s a traitor and a jerk and a bunch of other stuff I can’t repeat.

Sounds like the same fallout that ensued when Favre left Green Bay. I wonder if that was part of what Favre and Jennings talked about. They now have that in common. They are pariahs in Green Bay. Something tells me neither man will be losing a lot of sleep over the angst they’ve caused in Packerland. Their piles of money will console them.
