Jeff Locke Punts While Chris Kluwe Tweets

The punting competition has not officially begun between Jeff Locke and Chris Kluwe. That’s good news for Kluwe because I don’t think he’s mentally ready yet. Just the impression I get from the stuff he tweeted on Friday. If you missed it, Kluwe apparently had some problem procuring hotel accommodations. He posted:

He blamed it all on his wife? That’s gonna come back and bite him. So how did Kluwe deal with his unexpected downtime in the hotel lobby? Drinking was apparently involved.

Meanwhile, back at Vikings rookie camp…Kluwe’s mortal enemy Jeff Locke took a trip to the Metrodome with Mike Priefer. Locke got to practice kicking inside the Dome. How did he feel about the experience?

It went really well. It was cool to see [Metrodome] for the first time, and I thought I punted really well today.

Hear that Kluwe? He punted really well. And also worked on holding. While you were off griping and drinking and tweeting bad stuff about your wife.

Kluwe isn’t getting complacent is he? Focus Kluwe. Focus.

Oh forget it. We know this competition isn’t legit anyway. Does Seattle need a punter?

Kluwe just cannot keep his mouth from yapping and from tweeting. He is a distracton and not a great punter so that is why he will be gone. I would be surprised if anyone picked him up!!!

Most NFL players tweet. Greg Jennings tweets all day long, everyday! Who cares??

I find it hilarious that people say how punters aren’t “real” football players and how punting should be taken out of football, but then bitch when a punter has a life and interests outside of football. Listen Kluwe, is a intelligent man, who has the American RIGHT to have a life outside of football and interests and talents that aren’t related to football. Some people, can think about things other than football…weird concept to some, I know. There is no need to focus on kicking a damn football. He isn’t the quarterback or another player who has to study tape…this ISN’T rocket science. He lines up, takes the snap and kicks a freaking ball. Or he takes the snap and holds the damn ball. There isn’t no need to practice. Unless you’re a complete MORON you don’t need to spend hours a day practicing to kick a freaking ball. Football players aren’t just meatheads anymore. Some do actually have intelligence and some actually don’t feel the need to hide it.

I despise Kluwe as much as the next guy, but this article was contrived and stupid.

I agree about the article. But why would you despise a good punter like Kluwe? Do you hate gay people that much?

stretching it a bit, aren;t we? It’s a ROOKIE camp. Kiuwe is not a rookie, and he’s perfectly entitled to be best man at a friends wedding this weekend, surely?
