How about a little sampling of uplifting locker room quotes from after the Vikings’ ridiculous 35-10 home loss to the previously 1-3 Carolina Panthers? Predictably, Jared Allen did not take the loss well:

"Terrible. I want to go home and throw up. It’s embarrassing. This is one of the worst home losses I think I’ve ever had.I am kind of stunned…you look and it’s 35-3 and you ask yourself “what the hell is going on?”I hope people rebound a little angry. I hope guys are pissed off. I hope their feelings are hurt."

Kyle Rudolph, a more upbeat fellow than Jared, managed to take something positive from the defeat:

"I didn’t feel embarrassed because the guys in this locker room didn’t quit. That’s when things get embarrassing."

Funny cause from the outside it looked like a few people quit.

Chad Greenway may have had the money quote of the whole day when he compared the 2013 season to a previous disastrous Vikings campaign:

"I hate to say this, but it just seems like two years ago, and we all know how that ended."

Yeah, it ended 3-13. But at least we got to draft Matt Kalil and Harrison Smith the next year.

Oh and in case you were wondering about Josh Robinson’s apparent blown coverage on the Brandon LaFell TD that seemed to break the Vikings’ resolve? Leslie Frazier said Robinson was in the right coverage, he just didn’t play it very well. Robinson explained:

"I just have to be in better position, get on that route and take it away."

Yes Josh. I’d say if you’re letting a receiver get ten yards behind you when you evidently have man coverage on him, you need to be in a better position.
