Earlier this week, Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier admitted that the team was going to keep the decision on who to start secret until Friday.  Frazier had narrowed the choices down to either Josh Freeman or Christian Ponder, with Matt Cassel out of the running for the starting nod.

"“I have an idea of what direction we’re going to go and how we’re going to practice but I’m not in the frame of mind where I want to divulge that at this point,” Frazier said. “Our team knows and I’m sure it will get out there at some point. I don’t want to publicly talk about who’s our starting quarterback.”"

But after the team’s practice today, the Pioneer Press spoke with Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jerome Simpson about his upcoming week 9 game against the Dallas Cowboys.  While the team is remaining very hush-hush about who the starting quarterback is going to be for that contest, Simpson may have spilled the beans in that interview.

"“I think we’re going with Ponder,” Simpson said. “I feel confident in him. We just got to protect for him and make the catches.”"

Although we won’t know for sure until the team announces the starting quarterback officially,  it should be safe to say that Ponder is most likely the man who will be at the helm against the Dallas Cowboys this week.
