2014 NFL Mock Draft: Mosley to Minnesota

The Viking Age is a little early to their first mock draft of the year, but it’s always good to get to know the potential early picks and try to figure out who would fit where.  So, remember, this is a standard mock where no trades are allowed.  I hope you enjoy this mock as much as I enjoyed making it.

  • Don

Mosley before Barr and Mack? You crazy

    • 3kolu

I agree with you Don. And, I don’t believe that LB is a position of need. We have serviceable personnel at every LB position and a couple possible standouts in Cole and Mauti. As it stands our biggest positions of need are QB, DB and DL. But, that should change.

      • jojo

I disagree about LB not being weak. We didnt’ get to se what Mauti or Hodges can do and Greenway has been making too many mistakes bc he’s trying to do too much. I feel strongly about the need for a good LB who can step in and play immediately

        • 3kolu

Zimmer has a way of getting the best out of his personnel, designing the defenses around their strengths. Burfict struggled on and off the field before getting drafted. He was overweight and slow, running 5.09 40. As it stands, if the draft were today and we stayed put, It looks like we’d go with one of the top 3 QB’s if they fell down to #8 or BPA, probably Barr or Mack.

  • jojo

I’d be interested in trading back to take CB and get additional picks but if we stay at that 8 spot I’m 100% in for a LB

    • 3kolu

As it stands we need another shutdown CB. We could land one in FA where there are some options like Alterraun Verner, Sam Shields and Vontae Davis. Or, we could land a big corner in the 2nd or 3rd round of the draft like Stanley Jean-Baptiste or Keith McGill both 6’3″ and climbing the charts.

      • jojo

I agree I think we can address CB in Free Agency and sounds like Alterraun is very possible.

        • 3kolu

It would be a huge void filled if we could get Verner because of the familiarity he has with Jerry Gray. He should be near the top of the list.

    • 3kolu

We’ve had a history of doing well when we go BPA. There are so many potential starting CB’s in this draft though, I sure would like to nab one of those Sherman-like CB’s Desir, McGill or Jean-Baptiste.

Darqueze Dennard with the number 8 pick……. Then go DT in the 2nd , with S and CB in the third. You may Get Aaron Murray in the 4th

  • David Mallow

Barr and Mack are outside LB while Mosley is a MLB which could determine who goes first judging by what team needs which position.. Mosley should definitely be the pick at #8
