Adrian Peterson Wants Michael Vick To Quarterback the Vikings

Adrian Peterson has chimed in on who he thinks should quarterback the Vikings in 2014.

The man on Adrian’s mind is former Falcons and Eagles quarterback Michael Vick.

Adrian tweeted this out late Wednesday evening:

“Intently” is supposed to be “instantly.” Adrian was clearly inspired by this NFL Network tweet from earlier in the evening:

Vick will be a free agent come March 11th, and the Vikings can certainly bid on him if they choose.

If Adrian has any say in the matter, they will choose to put in a bid.

I don’t know however if Rick Spielman and Mike Zimmer are really looking for Adrian’s input on this particular rather important matter. I know Adrian has said he wants to have more say in personnel moves, but letting Adrian pick the QB?

I think Norv Turner is the guy you want to listen to on this.

It’s nice that Adrian is out there stumping for his friend, I guess. But I have a hunch the Vikings would prefer he just keep his tweets to himself on this one.

That’s a great idea!! Now instead of 1 injury plagued fragile QB, we could have 2!! Vick could start games 1-3, get hurt, Ponder then could start games 4-9. We’d be 2-6 or 3-5, our rookie who isn’t ready could come in and finish the season! We end up going 4-12 or 6-10! We’d be drafting in the top 8 AGAIN, and we’d be able to draft Hundley/Petty/Mariota!! You all caught the sarcasm right?! I was laying it on pretty thick!!

yep,and the rookie might be the diamond in the rough that does not kill dogs.I wish the guy would play in the street in front of my house! C’mon over Mike i would like to introduce you to 90 pounds of australian cattle dog with jaws and teeth by Kawasaki..Yepper..Just stop right in please..Anytime, yea hear now!!

With Norv running the plays he would be able to keep Vick out of trouble by calling plays that get the ball out of his hand quicker. Where he gets into trouble is when he tries to do too much. I think Vick would be a very good addition for the next one to three years until Mettenberger/Garoppolo, or whomever they choose to groom can play.

Also, to all you Vick backers out there, save your breath. I know what your argument will be: “he’s got a stronger arm than any other QB on the team” “all he’d have to do is hand it to AP” ” he’d have the best O-line he’s ever had” ” he’d have great weapons to throw it to”!! Did I miss anything?! He’s not the 2nd coming of Cunningham of 98! Loadholt would give up one of his patented speed rush sacks, and Vick would be done for the yr!! I’m tired of re-tread QB’s!! Nip this idea in the bud before it’s too late!!

  • Force Recon

Yeah, Dan, Adrian should keep his tweets to himself and the Vikings should listen to you!!! What a jackass.

A comedy of speculation..but fun to think about!

I’ll tell y’all this much…considering the overall big picture of the way that the “Rick Spielman draft” has gone in the past, (WITH A few exceptions), I’d seriously consider allowing AP to call AT LEAST SOME of the shots in this upcoming draft. There’s no doubt whatsoever that the man has IMMENSE talent, is nothing short of a beast, and the Wilfs LOVE HIM. Let #28 loose on the big board. I think it’s a pretty good idea myself. Hell, he can’t do any WORSE than Spielman. Although this scenario is highly unlikely, whomever gets the final say on draft day BETTER NOT FORGET that, even though the Vikings need a potential “franchise” QB in the worst way, they better look for him in the later rounds, or find a sleeper “diamond in the rough”, and use those first few picks for EXCELLENT DEFENSIVE TALENT so Edwards, (actually to a lesser extent, I think), and coach Zimmer can groom, and get them ready for the NFL style of football they’ll have to eat, sleep, and breathe, if they really want to be successful, and aren’t in it just for the coin. DEFENSE FIRST, GUYS, and THEN look for the absolute best QB you can get your hands on. One that is committed to learn, be taught, that can pick himself up and dust himself off when he is down, and not get rattled or visibly upset about it…in other words, a potential franchise QB, if there is any way possible. I think there is more than one way, and Spielman and company SHOULD KNOW IT!! SKOL VIKINGS!!

I think that with Spielman’s past struggles with the QB position, he’s going to listen even more to what Norv has to say. I actually like for the most part what Spielman has done. I just hope with around $40 mil in cap space, he “tweaks” his normal operating procedure on signing FA. I agree you build 1st through the draft, but that being sd, I’d hope he’d go after at least 1or 2 of the younger top tier FAs. If there’s not a QB theyre( Spielman/Norv/Zimmer) in love with, I wouldn’t have a problem with waiting till the 5th-7th RDs to draft a QB. Draft def for the most part this yr, then look at Petty/Mariota/Hundley next yr.
