Kevin Costner Thinks Johnny Manziel is a Winner

Kevin Costner isn’t an NFL GM, but he plays one in a movie. And in Costner’s expert movie star opinion, Johnny Manziel is going to be a great pro quarterback.

“I don’t give a crap what anyone says about the negatives with him,” Costner told MMQB. “He’ll play, and we’ll see. There’s a lot of drama in him. The guy’s a winner.”

If anybody knows about winners, it’s the guy who made The Postman.

Before you go dismissing Costner’s read on Manziel, remember that besides being an actor, Costner is also a football fan.

Costner has watched Manziel play. And watched Manziel win.

And as we all know, when you’re evaluating a college QB as a pro prospect, the main thing is wins and losses.

That’s why AJ McCarron should really be the #1 pick.

That’s why Colt McCoy has been such a success in the NFL.

Some guys just know how to win. Costner gets this. He doesn’t let himself be blinded by all that scouting crap.

I personally don’t need to hear any more. If Crash Davis says a guy is good, then he’s good.

Mike Zimmer needs to stop looking at the red flags and start focusing on the numbers in the win column.

It’s really not complicated, when you let Kevin Costner come and cut through all the bullcrap.

This is where I should mention that Draft Day starring Kevin Costner is coming to a theater near you. Or maybe it’s already out. I have no idea.
