Packers Take Pathetic Cheap Shot at 49ers, Aldon Smith

I normally try to avoid ever standing up for the Jim Harbaugh-led San Francisco 49ers and that whole operation they’re running out there, but this time I have no choice.

Another franchise in the NFL has actually gone more low-rent than the 49ers. I didn’t think it was possible, but the Packers have actually sunk lower than San Fran.

I really can’t see what is gained by this, but the Packers Twitter put out this blatant cheap shot at the 49ers and their troubled linebacker Aldon Smith.

Here’s the link to the tweet (I’m sure it will soon be taken down). Here is a screenshot of the cheap shot.

aldon smith

Just know Packers that we have the screenshot, so you won’t be able to back pedal from your absurd blast.

I mean really Packers. Hitting out at a man who is having obvious personal problems, possibly related to mental illness?

Just to make a point about what a marvelous high character organization you think you have?

Sure Packers. Just gloss over the whole Johnny Jolly thing. Gloss over Mark Chmura. Gloss over every other example of a Packer player past or present doing something that got him in trouble with the law.

I would expect that kind of cheap shot from a blogger like me, or some random jerk fan on Twitter, but the official team Twitter account?

Wow Packers. What a load of bullcrap. Whoever posted that should apologize right now and then be fired.

You cheeseheads are just the worst.

Being sent home from the playoffs twice in a row will make you bitter, but seriously, that’s an ugly move.

    • Cory Mulhern

How so? Did you even read the article?? What was so ugly about it? It hardly blasted SF. Simply stated that some teams gamble on players who have character flaws. In the Aldon Smith case, the gamble may have paid off to date, but the red flags could be catching up with him, just like it did Santonio Holmes. Just another example of how the Viking fan base has nothing better to do than loath the Packers. It truly is a sad existence.

      • Chris Schroeder

Wow kid Lopl u make me laugh. Any fudgepacker would be pissed at the 9ers cause they’ve had Ur number the last 3 years. Get butthurt at a horrible team and try and brainwash all the people that are packer fans….. uhhhh I almost puked into my mouth saying packer fan. Anyway look at Ur dog + crap organization, u deliberately try and injure the other team u play against. Its sick. Or u go and put a shard of glass on all days chicken in one of Ur crap shoot restaurants in green bay cause Ur team is a bunch of sour, jealous football teams. Clay glass shoes tried to deliberately take kaeps head off out of bounds. That shows me that Ur team is nothing more then a crap organization!! SKOL VIKINGS

        • nippersmom

As opposed to the Vikings’ stellar post-season performance…oh, yeah, that’s right; you guys didn’t make it into the post season. Again.

          • PackmanJohnny

They havnt made it since they had Favre actually. and before him, My God how many times in the last 20 years have they even been playoff hopefuls?

          • Don Andrew Halvorson

Wrong and stupid. We played you two years ago in the playoffs. We would have beaten you if you hadn’t taken Ponder out.

        • packcruiser

Read the article and learn something. By the way, learn how to compose a complete sentence and actually try spelling the words out, instead of taking the easy route.
Name calling is so intelligent, easy on the internet, amusing that the term jealous is used, considering the Packer organization has been far more successful than the Vikings.

        • Nevin Paustian

          Wow…fudgepacker, that’s original. SKOL D-BAG!!!

          • Chris Schroeder

Hahahahahahaha look at all the butt hurt dbag packer fans Lopl oh wait sorry to the simpleton. Laughing out loud

          • Nevin Paustian

Yet another loud mouth moron from purple nation.

        • Rodney Lawler

And the Packers have had the queens number for about 30 years so what does that tell you boy.And looking at your picture makes me think I won the gene pool lottery.

        • PackmanJohnny

Im not even gonna bother reading this. Its not even in English.

and Google Translate doesnt have “dumb@$$” in its list of languages….

    • Nevin Paustian

…and forming an opinion from a headline without reading the actual story makes you an idiot.

      • Don Andrew Halvorson

I read the article. My opinion didn’t change. Classless hypocrites, the whole organization.

        • Nevin Paustian

If you did actually read it and that is what you gathered from vic’s article, then you are either a bias vikings fan looking for any reason to crap on the packers or you are even dumber than Dan Zinski. For the sake of you and the hope that there isn’t any vikings fans that are dumber than Zinski, I will go with option A.

          • Don Andrew Halvorson

Oh no, I’m not allowed to have an opinion against the Packers. God forbid.

          • Nevin Paustian

No…i never said that you weren’t allowed to have an opinion against the packers. I just said your take from the article makes you either a bias vikings fan or an idiot. You decide. You want to hate GB? Go ahead. Talk all of the crap you want. God knows you can’t brag about your team’s performance, so fans like zinski and yourself need this kind of stuff to make believe that your team superior in some way.

          • Don Andrew Halvorson

Oh, I got you. Just like there’s only two reasons to be a Packer fan: inbred genes from when your grandfather raped your mother when she was a kid or you don’t actually watch football.

          • Nevin Paustian

Maybe I overestimated you. Looks like option B is actually a very likely scenario in your case after all. Maybe Zinski isn’t the most ignorant, idiotic vikings fan of them all. Keep it classy Minnesota!

          • Don Andrew Halvorson

Just because you name call with your liberal bullshit buzzwords doesn’t make you a classy guy. You pursued conflict because to you, I wasn’t allowed to have my own opinion on the subject. I’m not allowed to overcome my bias, but you’re holier than thou attitude makes you place yourself above the situation as a God among men. Why? Because you like your shitty pinko team that abuses its own fanbase with fake stocks. So, go screw yourself or take a crack at your mother like your grandfather did because your self-entitled opinion is unwanted.

          • Nevin Paustian

Like I said, I never once said that you were not allowed to have your own opinion. I also don’t claim to be holier than anyone. You are the one degrading an entire fanbase. The funny thing about that whole stock thing is, whose team was speculated to be moving out of their original state because their owner didn’t want to have his team play in that run down outdated dome anymore? Honestly, the more you speak, the bigger of an embarrassment you are to all vikings fans. You sure do have a strange obsession with incest. I am sure not all vikings fans think about their family that way, but apparently you might.

          • Don Andrew Halvorson

You enjoy your communism? Also, it’s not incest when it’s your mother that I’m talking about. I’m just remembering how hard she came when your grandfather and I took turns on her.

          • Nevin Paustian

Yep…once again. When you talk about someone’s grandfather and mother having intercourse, that is an example of incest and you seem to be obsessed with it. Do you understand now? You seem to have trouble with reading comprehension. Also, since when is the word idiot a liberal buzzword? Are you just tired of being called one your entire life so now you just play it off? Please respond. I enjoy your low brow stupidity.

          • Don Andrew Halvorson

Clearly, the liberal buzzword is ignorant. That’s the holier-than-thou word you keep throwing around like you invented. Your communist bullshit franchise gets that grandfathered favoritism because their unionized bullshit can’t move them to a better town. You can’t even attract free agents to the hodunk shithole you call Lambeau. In Minnesota, we pay taxes for a stadium because it builds our economy. See, we still have free market capitalism because we’re Americans. By paying taxes for the stadium, we get a guarantee on paper that the products used to construct our stadium are not imported from the third world.

You seem mad. Why are you mad? Is it because I’m telling you about how your incest-obsessed grandfather fucked his daughter so frequently as a child that he turned her into the town whore? Because I didn’t mean to make it seem like your grandfather and your mother were both obsessed with incest. On that contrary, only your grandfather is obsessed with incest. Your mother is just DTF everyone. If she’s obsessed with anything, I’d say she’s either obsessed with cuckolding your pathetic father or she’s obsessed with uncircumcised black dick. I’ve never seen a woman who screamed in pleasure louder than your mother when she was taking a pair of dirty black cocks.

          • Nevin Paustian

No…not mad at all. It’s hard to take your nonsense seriously. The “yo mama” jokes make me feel like I am talking to a prepubescent 12 year old little boy. I actually feel sorry for your parents to have a son who so blatantly shows off his lack of maturity and intelligence. So…yes you are in the end a truly ignorant idiot, buzzword or not. You are a truly sad human being. Anyways back to relevant conversation about how great it is to be a vikings fan. So…for years you get to pay to watch a team who has been largely mediocre at best in a run down joke of a stadium all while feeding money to an owner for giving you a subpar product in a subpar environment. Sounds like you should be known as Ziggy’s bitch. It’s funny how you bring the whole free agency thing. How is that working out for you? Just because your team or should I say Ziggy’s team thinks its a genius idea to pay a 40 year old QB $20 million for one season, doesn’t mean that other teams are that stupid. For christ sakes you need free agency. Your team actually viewed tavaris jackson, christian ponder, and joe webb as legit NFL QB’s when you drafted them. The only championship teams the vikings help put on the field were the 90′s Cowboys because they were stupid enough to trade an entire draft for herschel walker. Haha.

          • Don Andrew Halvorson

If I’m a child, then you’re fighting with a child. If I’m ignorant, then you’re putting me down even though I don’t know better. That’s your argument, moron. You can continue to try to get the last word in because you need to feel like you beat a child in a battle of wits. The truth is, I have the right to disagree with how my organization is run sometimes. I can’t be blamed because I don’t own or manage the team. However, you are to blame for the United Soviet Socialists of Green Bay getting destroyed by the 49ers over and over again. You choose to pay for that.

          • Nevin Paustian

Wow…is someone upset? No “witty” incest jokes this time? Honestly this really hasn’t been an argument. The debate mind set ended when I realized that I was dealing with an adult who thought throwing incest and mom jokes would actually piss off another person. Sad thing is that shit probably has worked for you in the past. I actually gave you the benefit of the doubt and just figured you were a bias vikings fan, but you proved me wrong. Oh yeah…the whole “the 49ers beat the packers” jab makes vikings fans look pathetic because you are relying on another team’s accomplishments to talk shit to packers fans. You can play the whole “communist” card all you want too. Fact remains the packers are a more succesful franchise than the vikings in every way imaginable. Enjoy being Ziggy’s bitch. The packers have one of the most financially sound/succesful franchises in sports. Your team would have bailed on you for the right price and you are bullshitting yourself, if you think otherwise.

          • Nevin Paustian

Oh yeah…so voluntarily buying shares of a team is communism? How much are your tax payers paying to build a stadium so that the team’s awesome owner doesn’t move his last place team to L.A.?

          • Don Andrew Halvorson

I’m going to be the bigger man and let you have the last word when you inevitably comment back on this. I won’t even read it because I know how much that’ll torture your arrogant mind.

          • Nevin Paustian

Alright big man. Whatever helps you sleep at night. Hope your nonsense incest jokes work out better for you in the future. Congrats on being named the poster child for pro-abortion.

  • Jim Smith

There is nothing wrong with it. Aldon Smith is a black eye on the NFL. He needs to have real disciplinary action. Kudos to Green Bay for posting that!

  • David Mallow

who cares..? the butt packers suck and noone is paying any attention to them,so they gotta get talked about somehow

    • packcruiser

Intelligent remarks by fans that should worry about their own team, which hasn’t done too much lately.

    • PackmanJohnny

you can talk after you win more than 5 games in a season.

    • Starksville

Shallow Mallow, you the same David who brings your b s to the Packer Site?

    • Nevin Paustian

With fans of such high intellect as yourself, it is amazing how your team has been so mediocre for so long.

  • PackFan81

Did any of you, including the writer of the article, even read the article? Here’s the excerpt in question:

    Brandon from Saint Paul, MN

Vic, it seems the Packers place a high emphasis on character during their selection process, as can be shown by the tremendously low arrest rate. This seems like a simple strategy to sustain success, yet, it seems more of a rarity in the NFL than the standard. What other teams are as committed to personal character?

Nobody wants a locker room full of criminals. All teams place a premium on character. Draft picks are too valuable to waste on guys in jail. It’s all a matter of where you draw the line. Some teams are a little more willing to gamble on a guy with some issues in his past. Santonio Holmes was one of those guys, and those issues eventually caught up to him with the Steelers, but not before he won a Super Bowl MVP. Aldon Smith had some red flags when he was coming into the draft, and it might be catching up to him just as it did with Holmes, but the 49ers have gotten a pretty nice return from their investment in Smith. Where do you draw the line? Every team has to answer that question in its own way. George Young said it’s not a game for the well-adjusted, and I am a George Young devotee. I don’t need a locker room full of choir boys. My line has some loops in it.

  • Captain Omniscient

As PackFan81 has pointed out below, that question was simply the title of Vic Ketchman’s daily “Ask Vic” article that he posts on the Packers website. You can also see how Ketchman answered that question below.

If I were a Vikings fan, I’d be embarrassed to have this Dan Zinski writing for my team. He’s either trying to bait you into hating the Packers even more or he’s simply incompetent and didn’t do any research on why that question was posed. Either way, he’s not much of a journalist, just a clown desperate for some attention.

    • Jake

Trust me we are embarrassed that this ass clown continues to write for our team’s site. Zinski is a fucking moron, he never has anything useful or insightful to say and most everything he does is half-assed and lazy. Many of us have put up comments complaining about the amateurish level of his work but he just keeps spitting out crap and apparently no one at the site is interested in getting rid of him and bringing in someone who actually knows what they are talking about.

      • Captain Omniscient

I appreciate the perspective – I’ve never seen this Zinski guy’s stuff before but he is way off base in this case. I’ve never seen the writer of the Packers column, Vic Ketchman, write anything bad about any team or any of their players and I read it daily; he is the epitome of class unlike this loser that you’re stuck with. Good luck this upcoming season. ☺

        • http://packers.com/ TooncesDMV

          Atta boy.

      • Nevin Paustian

I hope dan zinski actually reads this. Thank you for actually reading beyond the headline.

    • http://packers.com/ TooncesDMV

      Way to go Raq!

  • Boogie Ondown

Nothing wrong with it. The question is legit. Aldon Smith has a DUI, felony gun charges, and now does a dumb bomb threat. The question needs to be asked, part of it will be answered with an 8 game suspension or more by the NFL.

  • chris

Another example of Packer Arrogance. Living in a glass house (we’re pointing at you, Johnny Jolly), you’d best not throw stones at another organization, especially since that organization happens to be the one that’s bounced yours out of the playoffs in consecutive years. Maybe if the Packers spent more time worrying about their own roster than that of other teams, they wouldn’t have to spend the postseason watching the 49ers celebrate (another) victory over Green Bay.

    • packcruiser

Read the complete article, it does not bash the 49ers or Smith. Leave Johnny out of it, he paid his dues and had the support of the Packer organization, he knows he made a mistake. The playoffs don’t have anything to do with it, not in the least. It isn’t about worrying about their roster either, you have read it, understand the context (if possible).

    • http://Packers.com/ OKGOPACK

Johnny Jolly had an addiction problem. He did his time, cleaned up his act, was given another chance. Why point at him, he didn’t write the article. Also, if you read the article, no cheap shots were taken at Smith, or anyone else.

      • PackmanJohnny

        Fancy meeting you here….

        • http://Packers.com/ OKGOPACK

It’s “old home week”, hey, Johnny? : )

          • PackmanJohnny

            dang right lol.

God Ima have to leave this mess soon. A certain little someone taught me “You cant fix stupid” all too well. Didnt work on a Packer, im not even gonna bother with a Queen.

          • http://Packers.com/ OKGOPACK

Yeah, this is a pretty pitiful comment section, but at least they had us here to liven things up for a while!

          • PackmanJohnny

heh. theyre always welcome to join the Golden Army on “Ask Vic”!

          • pkrdug

            Hi, little one

          • http://Packers.com/ OKGOPACK

            Well, this is fun!

        • pkrdug

          Liquid….how you doing??

    • Nevin Paustian

Another example of an ignorant vikings fan looking for a reason to talk crap to packers fans. I know your team’s strong tradition of mediocrity can’t help you out, so I guess you nees stuff like this to make you feel good about your team.

      • chris

Watching the 49ers stomp your team on an annual basis is no excuse to shovel dirt on the organization.

And there’s no apples-to-apples comparison here. Jolly was arrested four times for drugs. He’s a convicted felon. But because he wears green and gold, he’s a *victim*? Get real.

        • Nevin Paustian

Nobody said anything negative about Aldon Smith. Did you actually read the original article that the idiot who wrote this article is misrepresenting? You are obviously looking for affirmation and not information. Read the original article and show me where he insults smith or the 49ers for that matter. The only person who is in the wrong here is the jack off on your team’s writing staff who wrote this non-sense. You are an embarassment to yourself, if you actually buy into this guy.

        • Nevin Paustian

The writer didn’t insult smith or the 49ers. Try reading the actual article unlike your team’s writer who decided to go ahead and insult an entire organization and its fan base just from looking at a headline. This vikings article is a joke and dan zinski should be ashamed of himself.

    • Mjanestar

Read the article. The author didn’t tear down Smith. He said as long as a player in not in lock-up, he should be on the field. This is just a made-up tirade that isn’t based in any truth.

  • gudge75

Ummm….. you didn’t read the article did you? Just decided to have a go, having only read a headline. Good work.

  • Ron

But hey, congrats. You show and mock a tweet that contains a headline of an opinion article, without ever reading or quoting from the article. And as a result, you got more page-views today than in a long time, I’ll bet.

    • PackmanJohnny

ikr. This Idiot didnt even write anything about the article.

      Really, Vikingage?

And really? lame name for a fansite, too.

Although Im not sure we should expect anything more from The Vi-Queens…

    • http://Packers.com/ OKGOPACK

This person will probably keep doing this kind of the thing. Most of these comments are from Packers fans, that’s one way to get “popular”. lol

      • Captain Omniscient

This is probably the most traffic this website has ever got. Notice that this site still has images enabled. I suggest that people bombard the site with pictures of Packers stuff. Here, I’ll start:

        • http://Packers.com/ OKGOPACK

Great idea, and I love the image, but I don’t know how to do that. Remember, techno-idiot here. : )

          • Captain Omniscient

I’d explain it to you but it would probably take too long and who knows if you would get it in the end. Maybe just give me the name of a player that you want a picture of here and I’ll put it up for you. ☺

          • http://Packers.com/ OKGOPACK

I think a picture of the best QB in the League would be a tactful reminder…… : ) Or even our ROY, who’s going to replace AD as the best running back…..

          • Captain Omniscient

Uh oh, Vikings fans, looks like the best running back in the NFC North just scored a TD

          • http://packers.com/ TooncesDMV

            Damn,
            Nice work Raq!

          • http://Packers.com/ OKGOPACK

            So-o-o cool!

          • Captain Omniscient

            This is for you…..

          • http://Packers.com/ OKGOPACK

            Alex! Awesome.

          • Bob E.

When people say Packer Fans are the most immature obnoxious douchebags in all of sports… Know you are it, and stuff like this is why.

          • Captain Omniscient

Actually, nobody says that….except maybe jealous Vikings fans who tend to feed on the scraps that the Packers drop from the table each year. You people have such an inferiority complex, including this moron writer of yours, that it’s a wonder that you’re not all in therapy.

          • Bob E.

Thank you for reinforcing my point. The most classless fan base in all of sports.

          • Captain Omniscient

Green Bay Packers – Like the Steelers, they know what they are and don’t have to brag about it. They talk a little more than Pittsburgh fans, but they usually know what they are talking about and I respect that. That said, unless you are a fan of one of their division rivals, there really is no reason to hate the Cheeseheads. If you do, you’re probably a pretty big asshole on a day to day basis.

Minnesota Vikings – The Vikings are like the NFC’s version of the Chargers, only with shitty weather. They never win anything, despite the talent that has gone through there. I see Viking fans here and there, but rarely do they say or do anything that I care to digest or pay attention to.
            ________________________

I think that last part under the Packers section pretty much sums you up.

          • Bob E.

Wow… A piece that states Steelers fans and Cheese heads as reserved intellects… This conversation is over, as your stupidity and ignorance have reached nauseating levels.

          • Captain Omniscient

The truth hurts, doesn’t it? ;-)

      • pkrdug

Why are our names in these god forsaken colors?????

        • ALEXGILLETTE

          Hey dug…….. nice

        • http://Packers.com/ OKGOPACK

          Thief.

  • Nevin Paustian

Did you actually read the article? Vic didn’t even insult the 49ers. Maybe if you weren’t so far up your own a** and actually took time to get passed the headline, then you might see that. Quit insulting an entire fanbase and organization on baseless information. You are truly ignorant and I am not labeling all vikings fans either. Just you personally…you are an ignorant moron.

  • Nevin Paustian

Dan Zinski should include this article on his resume when he applies to work at FOX News. Solid half assed reporting.

    • PackmanJohnny

Id tie that to my CBS app actually, you need to be a smart-@ss dude or a model to work for FOX…….

      • Nevin Paustian

I don’t think this guy has the intelligence to write for Highlights magazine for kids. I sure hope vikings fans are proud of this joke of a writer.

        • PackmanJohnny

article could have been a Teenage girl’s tweet. short, stupid, and completely irrational.

  • JJtheRevelator

Slow news day for you Vikes, eh?

    • pkrdug

In fairness, what can they show??

  • Starksville

“Dan Zinski is a Viking fan from way back. His takes are purely his own. Irrational or not.” Irrational, yeah, that’s it. Great chuckle though! Dan must be desperate for hits on this site. What better way to draw attention than to mention the NFL team with the greatest fan base.

  • pkrdug

I came over because someone said there was something to see, but I’ve been lied to………..there isn’t anything here worth looking at…..sheesh, this is pathetic

  • marcus blaskowski

Zinski are you in some way mentally challenged?? This is an opinion article by Vic. Your insinuating that Vic is writing an article on how Smith has a mental disorder and should be treated as such. I feel safe to say that Vic was SIMPLY stating that some teams perhaps are more aware of athletes personality traits than other teams. Congratulations on embarrassing yourself you clown. Next time read the article!

  • ALEXGILLETTE

    Mr. Zinski……..Nice column….really

  • Mjanestar

Hey numbskull, if you read the article instead of the tweet, you’ll see the writer says nothing negative about Aldon Smith. Its a discussion about how you look at potential character issues when drafting. That’s it. Geeez, way to misrepresent the writer, the website and the organization.

Can you read? Then you should have read the article.

    • Don Andrew Halvorson

Remember when Rodgers wrote that thong?

  • Starksville

Vic’s column could be interesting tomorrow.

    • Starksville

Woops, got a little carried away!

      • Captain Omniscient

        The bigger the better!

      • pkrdug

        Holy cr@p!!

        • Starksville

It honestly wasn’t intentional. But I’m ok with it.

      • PackmanJohnny

        Thats beautiful

Mr Zinski, I think you read waaayyy to much into that. This is all Vic’s opinion in this response to a question he was asked, and he said all teams when drafting put premium on character. That’s why talented players fall in the draft, and some don’t even get drafted, IMO. If a team takes a chance on someone you hope they clean up their act while in your organization. He said Santonio Holmes, who played for the Steelers, and Vic has worked in that organization, and Aldon Smith were players that had red flags going into the draft, and both of them have had things happen since they were drafted, but the organizations have gotten a return on their investment in drafting them. Vic wasn’t glossing over nothing with the Packers, all teams have their guys who get in trouble, he just gave 2 examples, nothing more, nothing less, and since Smith’s problem is so current, that might be why he used his name, JUST MY OPINION! To say he needs to be fired and needs to apologize is ludicrous, were living in a country of free speech, but everyone wants everyone else to apologize, what a joke.

Wow these a**hole comments that are very ignorant must be from these Green Bay FudgePackers. If you don’t like what he wrote just say that you don’t like it and it was wrong. Don’t be a dick.

Wow…gay slurs from a team high on purple pride.

So what you’re saying is that Zinshi is making a**hole comments because he went well above and beyond simply stating that he didn’t like what Ketchman wrote and that it was wrong?

      Meet your own standards, dude.

Mr. Zero-ski; talk about new lows – nothing good to talk about with the purple patsies, so they are mad that harbaugh’s hoodlums took away their thunder. all the vikes need to do is rent another boat and then they can get all the attention again.
