Albert Breer is tearing aside the curtain and giving fans a glimpse of the goings-on behind the scenes at Winter Park as the Vikings go through the final hours of the pre-draft process.

And what we’re seeing is a little bit…weird.

Consider this Breer report about how Rick Spielman and the Vikings’ scouting department have worked out their QB big board. Turns out, there isn’t even a board involved. Just some buckets.

Yes, I said buckets.

If only Breer could have gotten a look inside the buckets. Even if he couldn’t see the names on the pieces of paper, he still could see how many pieces of paper were in each bucket.

How many pieces in the bucket for the #8 pick? One? Two? Zero???

Also, I’m pretty sure the Vikings visited with more QBs than that. Didn’t they have Bryn Renner and Keith Wenning into Winter Park?

So that’s 11 QBs. Are those other two guys in the buckets too?

And what happens to the buckets after draft day? Do they go back into the janitorial rotation? Does Rick Spielman keep one his in office to barf in when he realizes he just Christian Pondered himself again?

So many questions, so few answers.
