Josh Robinson, Robert Blanton Finally Suit Up for Vikings

It’s been a frustrating preseason health-wise for Vikings DBs Robert Blanton and Josh Robinson, but good news, the two men are finally well enough to suit up and hit the field. Both are expected to see action as the Vikings take on the Kansas City Chiefs Saturday night in steamy Arrowhead Stadium.

This is especially good news for Robinson who has reportedly landed in Mike Zimmer’s doghouse after missing two preseason games and a couple weeks of practice with a nagging hamstring injury. Robinson may need a good game tonight to get himself off the roster bubble at cornerback.

Blanton, who began camp as a starting safety, is probably safe roster-wise but it never hurts to play well and impress your coaches.

The Vikings are about as healthy tonight in the secondary as they’ve been all preseason, with only cornerback Jabari Price missing action. They’re a little more banged up at LB with Brandon Watts and Gerald Hodges both sitting out.

Michael Mauti figures to get a longer look at linebacker with two men on the shelf. He needs to take advantage, because right now there’s a decent chance he will be cut when rosters are trimmed to 53.
