Mike Zimmer Not Pleased With Vikings Play Vs Lions

Vikings fans weren’t the only ones furious about their team’s performance on Sunday against Detroit.  Head coach Mike Zimmer can be added in with those who are disappointed.

During Mike Zimmer’s post-game press conference, the rookie head coach vented his frustration to the members of the media.  Here is what he said in the conference according to a Yahoo! Sports article:

"“I’m extremely disappointed about this loss. I can handle getting beat. I can’t handle getting our butts whipped like that.”"

Mike Zimmer continued on, getting into some specifics.

I had to fine a lot more guys this week, for whatever reason, for being late to meetings. I’m not going to let them slide. I’m going to keep fighting. I’m going to keep pounding my head. Like I told them, the fines are going to start going to the max now. I’m tired of it.”"

Accountability sounds like the keyword once again for the Minnesota Vikings.  It was an issue with previous head coaches, and now that it rears its ugly head again it is up to Mike Zimmer to take care of this issue as soon as possible.  This isn’t a football team that lacks talent, but they all need to work hard and realize it.

Despite the problems, Mike Zimmer will stay the course though.

"“I’m going to continue to preach the message. It’s not going to change.”"

Hopefully the message gets through to the players.  If not, the Minnesota Vikings and Mike Zimmer may have a very long season ahead of them.
