Vikings LB Anthony Barr’s Knee Issue Is ‘Nothing Scary’

If the Minnesota Vikings are going to make some noise during the 2015 NFL season, they will need to stay healthy.  That includes last year’s #9 overall draft pick Anthony Barr.

Barr ended last year on injured reserve for the Vikings following an injury to his knee.  Prior to that, Barr was proving to be a game changer in Minnesota’s defense, making some huge plays including forcing and returning a fumble for a game winning touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

During OTAs, Anthony Barr has been sitting out for the activities, but according to Tom Pelissero on Twitter, the word is that it’s not a major concern for his immediate future.

Anthony Barr is still hoping to improve his game despite the “knee issue”.  Earlier this offseason, Barr spoke with Vikings.com about what he wanted to achieve this offseason.

"“I want to get stronger,” Barr said. “I think now that I understand my assignments and getting the grasp of the entire defense and being a better tackler. I think I missed too many last season, so those are my points of emphasis, and I’m trying to improve on those.”"

Hopefully, the “word” that Tom Pelissero is hearing is correct and Anthony Barr will be ready to go when the team kicks off their regular season on Monday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers.
