Vikings Have 12th Best Uniforms in NFC According to Major Website

Sporting News ranked every NFC team’s uniforms and decided that the Vikings have only the 12th best unis in the conference:

"The Vikings got a new uniform set for 2013, and it was actually addition by subtraction; it was better than what they had previously worn, but it wasn’t much of an improvement. Their designers created a new number font, supposedly to mimic Viking sails, and which looks decent with some numbers but terrible with others, because only the first number of a two-digit number has the extra sail font. It was a good idea in theory, but terrible in practice."

Oh that’s supposed to look like a sail. Now I get it. I think.

Anyway, who do you think has the best unis in the NFC? Guess who Sporting News picked. Yup, those guys:

"The Packers continue to have the best uniforms in the NFC (and the NFL) and have had the best set for years. Not only do the green and gold look fantastic together, their classic old school looks have remained basically unchanged since the team won the first Super Bowl back in 1967."

It’s hard to disagree with this assessment of the Packers’ threads. I sort of wish the Vikings would reverse course and go back to a classic look, doing away with all the unnecessary tweaks and bits of garbage they’ve introduced over the decades (sails!), but I guess that’s not going to happen.

Less is definitely more when it comes to unis. Maybe one day the Vikes will get that.
