Jarius Wright expected to miss at least one game (Report)

Jarius Wright looks like he may be on the shelf for a little while after missing practice for the Vikings on Wednesday.

According to a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, Wright is expected to miss “a game or two” with a hand injury.

Wright has caught five passes for 72 yards so far this year and added a 29-yard run on a reverse against the Lions.

Jarius isn’t the only banged-up Vikings wide-out. Charles Johnson also missed practice on Wednesday after suffering a hip injury during Sunday’s game against San Diego.

The prospect of the Vikings being without both Wright and Johnson for this weekend’s game vs. Denver puts a little damper on our enthusiasm, no doubt about it.

If Wright and Johnson are both unable to go, the Vikings will have to lean more heavily on Adam Thielen and possibly Cordarrelle Patterson.

The Vikings may also have to call upon rookie WR Stefon Diggs who has been inactive through the first three games after a strong preseason.

Minnesota so far this year has leaned heavily on RB Adrian Peterson but at some point they are going to need production from their receivers if they want to post a good season and make the playoffs.

Teddy Bridgewater has gotten off a slow start at quarterback and has yet to throw a touchdown pass to a WR in 2015.

Losing Wright for a couple games isn’t going to help that passing game get on-track.
