U.S. Bank Stadium construction over 75 percent complete

The Minnesota Vikings are currently playing their final season of playing at the University of Minnesota’s TCF Bank Stadium before moving into the luxurious U.S. Bank Stadium for the 2016 season.

So far, the list of amenities that will be available in the new stadium is amazing.  For example, some of the most talked about features are stadium-wide wifi, an amazing amount of monitors so that nobody misses the action, Mamava lactation suites, and unique LED lighting.  It seems like every month that the stadium is getting another new and interesting addition to the facility, as improvements are constantly being implemented.

On October 10, 2015, the official Minnesota Vikings twitter account shared the following message with fans:

To have the construction over three-quarters of the way complete is a huge step for U.S. Bank Stadium.  The building will be home to many major events in the future, including an upcoming Super Bowl and NCAA championships as well as have bids in to host WrestleMania and a College Football Playoff National Championship.

Here is the official announcement to from the official U.S. Bank Stadium website:

"“At this morning’s MSFA monthly board meeting, Mortenson Construction announced that the stadium’s progress has hit the 75% completion mark. Since ground was broken in December 2013, $640 million worth of work has gone into the site. There are currently 1,400 workers on site, the highest number the construction site will see. The crane that was used to place the structural steel on the on the south side of the roof has been disassembled and removed from the site, making way for full enclosure in the immediate future. The U.S. Bank Stadium logo is currently going up on the exterior stadium’s north side as well as on the roof on the same side. The retractable seating elements will soon begin installation with the entire retractable seating complete at the end of March.”"

There will likely be many, many more updates and improvements coming to U.S. Bank Stadium in the near future, as the Wilf family have been spending a lot of money out of their own pockets on recent improvements like extra video screens and local artwork.  We’ll keep you up to date on other stadium related new in the future.
