Minnesota Vikings safety Andrew Sendejo will be ready for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears unless he catches a little cough from a local reporter.

The Minnesota Vikings have been missing quite a few defensive starters recently, and one of those who have been absent is safety Andrew Sendejo.

Following practice on Wednesday, Sendejo spoke with reporters about the job that Anthony Harris did filling in for him against the Arizona Cardinals and discussed his current situation.  The safety asked a question of a reporter, which led to a great back and forth.

Here is how that dialogue went according to the video on Vikings.com:

"Dec 1, 2013; Minneapolis, MN, USA; Chicago Bears wide receiver Earl Bennett (80) catches a pass for 15 yards as Minnesota Vikings safety Andrew Sendejo (34) tries to tackle him in the first quarter at Mall of America Field at H.H.H. Metrodome. Mandatory Credit: Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY SportsReporter: “How are you feeling?”Sendejo: “I feel great. How do you feel?”Reporter: “Not too bad…a little cough though. I’ll be good for Sunday. Will you?”Sendejo: “If I get sick, that’s on you.”"

Following the humorous exchange, Sendejo got serious and said “I’ll be ready for Sunday”, giving hope that he’ll be able to return to the team and play in this week’s game against the Chicago Bears.

At this time, it isn’t known as to whether or not any of the other injured defensive starters, including Harrison Smith, Anthony Barr and Linval Joseph, will be good to go for Sunday, but it sounds as though the Minnesota Vikings will have Sendejo available for the Chicago game.

You can catch that game against the Bears on December 20, 2015 with a noon kickoff time. Check your local listings for time and availability.
