The Minnesota Vikings will have a total of five representatives from the team available for the 2016 Pro Bowl draft on Wednesday, January 27, 2016.
Professional football’s all-star game is set to take place this weekend and the Minnesota Vikings are well-represented. This year, the team has brought five players to the Pro Bowl to take place in the contest, where the most popular players in the league will take the field.
Like last year, the Pro Bowl is no longer divided by divisions, but instead the teams are chosen by the team captains. This year, Michael Irvin and Jerry Rice will be selecting the teams starting on January 27, 2015 at 6:30 pm central time. They will choose players in an alternating method until all players have been selected.
In the list of players to choose from, five Minnesota Vikings will be available for Irvin and Rice. Here are the players they have to choose from:
Anthony Barr, linebacker
Teddy Bridgewater, quarterback
Everson Griffen, defensive end
Adrian Peterson, running back
Harrison Smith, safety
With the exception of veteran running back Adrian Peterson, this is the first year that each of the other Minnesota Vikings players invited to the game will be making a Pro Bowl appearance. While it is unlikely that these five players will be drafted to play on the same team, it will be fun to see which players end up on which team and which point they are selected at in the draft.
Once selected, the players in the Pro Bowl will report to their coaches, which will be either the staff of the Green Bay Packers or Kansas City Chiefs.
