It's that time of year again when free agency has died down in the NFL but the NFL draft hasn't happened yet. Thank goodness that some Minnesota Vikings fans who enjoy professional wrestling have WrestleMania to look forward to during that time.
WrestleMania 42 will happen at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, on Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19. Once again, there will be talent on display that should be familiar to Vikings fans who pay attention to training camp bodies.
The characters, athleticism, and stories in the WWE can be wild, but there have been crazier stories that have happened in the NFL and some of those have involved the purple and gold in unbelievable moments and events that have blown the minds of fans.
Former Minnesota Vikings Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns are set to compete in high-profile matches at WrestleMania.
Night 2 of WrestleMania is when fans can expect to see two former Minnesota Vikings in action along with a great lineup of matches to enjoy. Although Saturday's lineup is strong, Sunday's card is stacked with powerful talent that will draw a massive audience.
Sunday night of WrestleMania is expected to kick off with the highly anticipated match between Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi. The two large, muscular men should showcase a crazy amount of power and athleticism as well as create moments everyone will be talking about on social media.
Lesnar was an undrafted free agent out of Minnesota who signed with the Vikings in 2004. A defensive tackle, he played in a few preseason games before being released and shifting his focus to the octagon and sports entertainment.
Later that night in the main event, C.M. Punk is set to take on Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship. This match is expected to close the show, so it should be highly entertaining.
Roman Reigns, also known as Leati Joseph Anoaʻi, was a defensive tackle at Georgia Tech who went undrafted in 2007. The Vikings signed him as a free agent, but he was diagnosed with leukemia that was discovered during the team's physical. He was released to address his medical issue, but still had short stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Edmonton Eskimos before turning to sports entertainment.
WWE WrestleMania 42 will air on ESPN PPV in the United States, starting with the kickoff event at 4 pm CT on Saturday, April 18. But don't miss the action on Sunday when two former purple and gold Minnesota Vikings will take the ring during the Showcase of the Immortals.
