Vikings rookie safety Tyrell Johnson took time out from the grind of OTAs to talk to Bob Sansevere of the St. Paul Pioneer-Press. The interview was largely one of those getting-to-know-you pieces that can be used for future trivia bits assuming Tyrell sticks around long enough. Among the topics discussed: What Tyrell would want for his last meal:
"I’d want my last meal to be cheese dip. I love cheese dip. I’d wash it down with grape Kool-Aid. I know Kool-Aid and cheese dip don’t mix. But minus the heartburn, that’d be what I want."
A lot of people would go for something elaborate as their last meal on earth – crowned rack of lamb or elephant stew or something – but not Tyrell…give him some cheese dip and grape Kool-Aid and he can go out happy, if slightly gassy.
Sansevere also asked Tyrell about his favorite movie:
"My favorite movie? I really like 300 a lot. And I like Apocalypto. That’s one of my favorites."
I don’t want to start rumors, but Tyrell seems to enjoy movies featuring buff men running around in skimpy clothes. I guess he likes those movies for the action and killing. Sure. We’ll go with that.
Next Tyrell names his favorite actor and actress:
"Jack Nicholson is one of my favorite actors. Actress? A lot of guys like Halle Berry, but not for the acting part. My favorite actress is Lucille Ball."
I had no idea the younger generation was even aware of Lucy, much less into her work. That’s kind of refreshing. All-in-all, I’d say Tyrell is an interesting cat. Slightly gay and not that developed in his culinary tastes, but interesting.
