Gus was 9/17 in the first half for 87 yards, 0 TDs and 1 INT. His main problem was throwing too high. The Vikes had to settle for 3 on their one trip into the redzone. Adrian ran 9 times for 36 yards. He’s running hard but the bad hammy may be keeping him from having the same burst. The first big turning point of the half came when Delhomme fumbled to Ben Leber but the Vikes were unable to cash in, and gave the ball back to Carolina who had a long drive, aided by a semi-questionable interference call, to make it 10-0. Delhomme is 9/15 for 115 yards, 60 to Steve Smith. He’s been sacked twice and fumbled twice. Let’s keep running the ball with AD and Chester, grinding clock, and let the D go out there and make big plays.
Charissa Thompson rocking the Sarah Palin glasses. They make her seem very, um, intelligent.
Vikes come out with Chester and Adrian in the backfield at the same time. Crafty, crafty Chilly.
Finally – the big play to Bernard Berrian. Now we’re cooking with gas.
Shiancoe with the touchdown. Are pigs flying?
And of course we give up the huge kickoff return – but we’re saved by the block in the back. Vinny Ciurciu is hurt.
Giants and Pats both losing. Chiefs mounting a comeback on Atlanta. Raiders winning. Screwy day so far.
Panthers are killing themselves with penalties now. Panthers fans are going to scream that Tyrell Johnson should’ve been called for interference on Smith but that ball was uncatchable.
Peppers gets Frerotte. At least Gus held onto the ball.
Two straight sacks of Gus. Not what we needed.
I’m not sure why Carolina is running so much. Vikes are much more vulnerable against the pass. They’ve got Steve Smith. Sorta goofy.
Just a total jailbreak with Greenway and Tyrell both blitzing. Almost another turnover. Third fumble for Delhomme.
Hasn’t been much running room today. Chester is in now for Adrian. Probably a prudent move.
Chester looks more spry than Adrian. Maybe they should’ve just sat AD today.
Nice attempted flop on the sidelines by Gus to try and draw the late hit flag. That’s a veteran right there.
We completed a screen? It’s a veritable day of wonders.
