Rosenfels, T-Jack Not Happy Campers

The Vikings have a couple of really ticked-off back-up quarterbacks right now.  And they’re not trying all that hard to hide their irritation.

“It’s something that wasn’t a total shock,” Sage Rosenfels said when asked about the Favre deal.  “Obviously this has been three months in the ongoing sort of thing. So for me personally this wasn’t what I was hoping for. I tried to get traded here and got traded here.”

Sage then made the usual remarks about staying ready if the team needs him, going out with the right attitude, blah blah…and then he was asked if he would seek a trade, and replied this way:

“I don’t know. I haven’t really thought about that. I’m just trying to get my ankle fixed right now. It’s feeling pretty good for the most part but just trying to get that right. I haven’t even really thought about that stuff.”

Note that Sage did not say “No” when asked if he would like to leave.  Think he’s pissed?  Think his heart will really be in it if and when the Vikes call on him to replace Favre for whatever reason?

Tarvaris Jackson appears equally irked.  “I really don’t have a reaction,” T-Jack said when asked for a, um, reaction.  “I’m just taking it day by day right now. I just came out here trying to get ready for the game Friday.”

T-Jack also denied ever saying he would ask for a trade should Favre be given the starting job.  Wouldn’t surprise me, frankly, if both Sage and T-Jack stormed into Rick Spielman‘s office and demanded to be moved.  I wouldn’t blame either one of them.

Only John David Booty seems happy with his lot.  All he’s lost is his number, not his job.
