Percy Harvin Shows Up on the Vikings’ Injury Report With a Bad Hip
By Dan Zinski
Percy Harvin says his migraine troubles are behind him, thanks to the oxygen pump he now uses to help the sleep apnea he believes was behind the problem.
Unfortunately, Percy now has other physical issues besides the threat of migraines. The receiver landed on Wednesday’s injury report with a bad hip, and was limited in practice.
The troubling thing about that, besides just the fact that Harvin’s hip is hurt, is that he was once again not able to participate fully in practice. As last week’s game showed, Percy has a long way to go to make up for the practice time he missed during camp and preseason thanks to the migraine thing.
Not surprisingly, Brett Favre also showed up on the injury list, for a bad ankle and bad back. At his age, I’m surprised it doesn’t just say “Brett Favre – sore all over and kind of ornery.”
The good news from today (yes, there actually was some)? Chris Cook, Cedric Griffin and Toby Gerhart were all able to practice. Cook and Griffin were limited, once again casting doubt on the likelihood of their actually getting on the field Sunday, but Gerhart was able to fully participate.
After the way Albert Young looked in his short stint against the Saints, I am very happy to see another back added to the rotation.
Oh, and Bryant McKinnie was also limited in practice because of that finger he pulled out of joint against the Saints. No comment.
