The highlight of the second half for the Vikings tonight? Outside of Adrian Peterson’s spectacular long TD run, it had to be Jared Allen going completely insane after getting his face bloodied by Tampa Bay’s Donald Penn. The two guys were mixing it up during a play, then things escalated when Penn tore Allen’s helmet off, scratching Allen’s nose in the process. Jared responded by flipping out. Both men were flagged. On the very next play Allen went under Penn and sacked Josh Freeman. This fired up the Metrodome to the point almost of explosion. But the feeble Vikings offense was unable to carry the momentum. The offense and defense both fizzled for the rest of the second half and no comeback materialized. But at least we got to see what Jared Allen looks like totally crazed and out of his mind with anger. It was scary. And highly entertaining.
