Adrian Peterson will have a shot at 2,000 yards this year, and a big part of that story is the man clearing the way for him as his fullback. Jerome Felton has truly been a revelation as a lead blocker paving the way for some of Adrian’s most spectacular runs. So it’s only fitting that Felton should be joining Adrian as a Pro Bowler.
Adrian was a no-brainer for the Pro Bowl, with his massive statistical season and the inspiration of his comeback story. Felton wasn’t quite as sure a thing, but in the end voters got it right. Without Felton, there might not even be a run at 2,000.
Kudos to the voters for recognizing Felton’s value. Now let’s hope these two have one more big game left in them this year. We need a huge day from Adrian to beat the Packers and get in the postseason. And for Adrian to have that huge day, Felton will have to be huge too. And to think, there was a time when Adrian hated running with a lead blocker…
