NFL Network carries the Senior Bowl starting at 4 PM ET Saturday. Here are a few participating players that Viking fans might want to keep an eye on if they’re into that whole “scouting draft prospects” thing:

NORTH

Aaron Dobson, WR, Marshall  A big play receiver out of Marshall. Sound familiar? He doesn’t have Randy Moss speed though. He’s more of a Sidney Rice type, potentially. Guy who goes up and gets the ball. Not a burner.

Aaron Mellette, WR, Elon  Small school guy with nice skills. 6-3 with decent speed. Might rise into the first round.

Markus Wheaton, WR, Oregon State  Already wrote about this guy. Won raves for his performance in Senior Bowl practice.

Kawann Short, DT, Purdue  Wrote about this guy too. Projects as a potential Kevin Williams-type. Can rush the passer and stop the run.

Arthur Brown, LB, Kansas State  Projects as a 4-3 weakside linebacker. The Vikings need a middle backer worse but this draft is not exactly brimming over with inside backer talent. Their best bet might be to upgrade the middle through free agency and draft a guy like this to replace the underwhelming Erin Henderson. Brown is solid against both the run and pass and is very athletic.

Blidi Wreh-Wilson, CB, Connecticut  Not overwhelmingly great in any area but solid in all. Decent speed, some physicality. Could make a good Tampa-2 guy. Has some ballhawking instincts. Worth a look possibly in the third or fourth.

SOUTH

Stepfan Taylor, RB, Stanford  Would potentially be a good third down back. Not super-fast but has enough speed around the corner to break a big play occasionally. But still has power and is a good blocker. And can catch. Has more all-around game than Toby Gerhart.

Terrance Williams, WR, Baylor  This guy is being mocked to the Vikings by plenty of experts. Has potential as an outside target.

Oday Aboushi, OL, Virginia  Big right tackle. Phil Loadholt may or may not get an extension.

Baccari Rambo, S, Georgia  Reportedly was terrible in Senior Bowl practice all week. Has had off-field issues. Big, physical safety.
