What really happened with Percy Harvin this season? The Vikings insist he was placed on IR only because of his injured ankle. But there have been plenty of whispers about other things going on, including a possible altercation with coach Leslie Frazier. A new report from WCCO’s Mike Max sheds a little more light on the situation and the information is somewhat disturbing. Max says there was indeed an incident between Harvin and Frazier:

"Multiple sources tell Max that Harvin had an embarrassing tirade directed toward Frasier, disrespecting the coach during the season when Harvin was sidelined with an injured ankle.Teammates were present, and Max was told that is when Harvin left the team and was put on injured reserve."

Harvin’s teammates were reportedly “disappointed” with Harvin’s display of attitude. What we don’t know is the exact cause of the blow-up. Was it related to Harvin’s rehab as has previously been suggested? Or were there just general problems between Harvin and Frazier.

Max goes on to report that the Vikings will indeed trade Percy Harvin this offseason because of his problems with the coaching staff, front office and teammates. Of course Rick Spielman has tried to defuse all the Harvin trade talk. But if you read between the lines of Spielman’s carefully worded statements, there is plenty of wiggle room there. At no point has Spielman come out and definitely said Harvin will be a Viking in 2013.

Right now it appears Harvin will absolutely not be in purple next season. What can the Vikings get for him in a trade? And who can they find to replace his offensive production?
