Antoine winfield was cut loose two weeks ago for money reasons. Leslie Frazier made it clear that he wants Antoine Winfield back with the Vikings but does Winfield want to come back after the way he was reportedly treated by the front office? Who knows how Winfield truly feels. Reports are that he is going to visit Washington. Because Washington is where all Viking DBs end up after being cut for money reasons. But if Washington falls through, does Winfield end up right back in Minnesota?

Maybe. Antoine is clearly leaving his options open. Maybe he’s ticked at the Vikings but reports are he is still communicating with the organization. In other words, if no one else will sign him, he’ll swallow his pride and come back to the Vikes. He may have felt burned by the shabby way Rick Spielman handled his exit but not burned enough to choose retirement over the Vikings.

I personally would feel a lot better if Winfield came back. Our secondary right now is not exactly stock-piled with top-notch talent. Holding on to Winfield for at least one more year while adding some more young DBs in the draft would be the best plan of action. Winfield can hold down the fort until someone new is ready to step in and be a player.
