The mock drafts are almost over and the real draft is soon to begin. Who did the Vikings take in the last FanSided.com mock of the season? Two guys we haven’t thought much about.
With the 23rd pick the Vikings select D.J. Hayden, cornerback from Houston:
"Hayden is a player that is gaining a lot of steam. The Vikings lost Antoine Winfield in free agency and they need to add a corner early."
There are injury concerns surrounding Hayden but some teams are reportedly willing to look past that. He could go as high as the top 10 if you believe the draftniks.
And at 25 the Vikings take linebacker Alec Ogletree:
"Were it not for character issues, Ogletree would be selected in the top half of the first round. Ogletree’s talent is well worth the risk. If the Vikings use their first round picks on defense, they are well on their way to turning things around."
I will eat my shoe if the Vikings take Ogletree with his DUI stuff and Mike Mayock being afraid of him. This guy is all red flag.
What will happen on real draft night? We’re only two days away from finding out.
