Adrian Peterson has made known his feelings about gay marriage. He is “not with it.” But he’s made it clear that he is cool with gay people in general. As long as he doesn’t have to shower with them.

Wait, what? Yeah Adrian went there. In a new interview with the Oklahoman, the Vikings running back went into more depth concerning his thoughts about homosexuals. Why? I don’t know. But here’s what he said about having a gay teammate.

"Simple things, as far as showers and things like that, you know, of course, anyone would be uncomfortable. But you know, I’m a grown man. There’s things that I can deal with. I’m comfortable in my skin."

I’m a little confused here. Is Adrian concerned that his gay teammate might be checking him out in the shower? I hate to break the news to Adrian but straight dudes check each other out in the shower. Checking out happens all the time. Life is a big orgy of checking out.

Why should a gay guy checking you out make you more uncomfortable than a straight guy checking you out? Is AD worried that it might progress beyond checking out? Is he concerned he might drop the soap and…

Okay we’re getting a little graphic here. Anyway there is sure to be a bit of backlash against Peterson after these somewhat weird remarks. You have to wonder why he keeps making the remarks. It’s almost like he doesn’t know when to shut up.

But it’s all a media creation anyway, right? The media are blowing the whole thing out of proportion. It’s the media’s fault Adrian keeps answering these questions.

Hey, it’s his personal opinion. God bless him. But the shower thing sounds moronic. Sorry it just does.
