Free agent Wide Receiver Terrell Owens was on NFL Network’s “NFL AM” recently and gave his opinions as to what his best options were to sign with. The 39 year old replied that his best options might be the Minnesota Vikings or the Kansas City Chiefs.
Hopefully, this didn’t give the Minnesota Vikings any ideas. This year is unlike most the team has experienced recently in terms of quality at the Wide Receiver position. Not only did the team use a first round draft pick on Cordarrelle Patterson, but they also went out and got expensive free agent Greg Jennings from the Green Bay Packers.

The Vikings also have Jarius Wright and Jerome Simpson returning at their positions. Plus, there are already enough bodies in camp to compete for the last one or two positions that the Vikings will take into the final 53 on the roster. Joe Webb, Stephen Burton, Erik Highsmith, Chris Summers, Adam Thielen, Rodney Smith, LaMark Brown and Greg Childs all have one particular thing that T.O. cannot offer, and that is youth.
By now, we all know General Manager Rick Spielman’s philosophy for the Vikings. Sadly, for Mr. Owens, he just doesn’t fit what this team is trying to do.
