The Vikings will have a fully-stocked roster when they roll into Mankato on Thursday. As expected, the last three unsigned rookie draft picks all inked deals in the hours leading up to camp. Sharrif Floyd, Xavier Rhodes and Cordarrelle Patterson are all officially locked up and ready to roll.

The signing action got going Thursday morning when Floyd put his John Hancock on his first NFL contract. Xavier Rhodes followed suit a short time later. And then it was Mr. Patterson’s turn. The Vikes have now locked down their whole rookie class.

What can we expect from the newest Vikings as we proceed through 2013? Well that is hard to say. Of the three I would expect Xavier Rhodes to have the most immediate impact. He is a big part of Alan Williams’ plan to tweak the defensive scheme. Sharrif Floyd I imagine will be worked in gradually with Kevin Williams still on the roster and still making a healthy salary.

Cordarrelle Patterson is the biggest question mark of the three. It all depends on how much of Bill Musgrave’s offense he can master. Will this guy be more of an inside weapon or will they be able to use his speed on the outside? We expect he’ll get a look at kick returner also. And who knows? Maybe the creative Mr. Musgrave has something interesting up his sleeve.

The next month will certainly be interesting. And entertaining.
