Thinking about the gifts that we all give and get around this time of year gave me a great idea.  I decided to make a Christmas list for Santa!

Here’s what I’ll ask jolly old Saint Nick to put under the tree for the Minnesota Vikings for this year:

  • A New Starting Quarterback: It’s not that I don’t like Ponder/Cassel/Freeman.  They are probably all great guys.  But the truth is that this team needs a franchise quarterback pretty badly.
  • A Competent Coaching Staff: I still like Leslie Frazier, but he may have bitten off more than he can chew.  With little to no help from his offensive coordinators, it looks like Santa may need to bring in a new face for next year.
  • A Pass Defense: The Vikings have been bad this year.  Historically bad.  They’re in danger of giving up the most points in one season in the history of the franchise.  I know injuries have really hurt this team, but that’s not a good enough excuse.
  • Pass Rushers: Minnesota still doesn’t have a single player to register double digit sacks. The cornerbacks, although struggling, can use some help from the defensive line getting pressure on the opposing team’s quarterbacks.

Is there something I forgot?  Or something you’d like to ask Santa to bring the Vikings this year?  Add it in the comments.

Happy Holidays and SKOL Vikings forever!
