Erin Henderson has a problem. Two months after being arrested for DWI, the Vikings linebacker has reportedly been nailed a second time for the same offense.
Per Tom Pelissero, Henderson was busted New Year’s Day in Chanhassen, Minnesota. He ultimately was booked on four charges including second degree test refusal DWI.
Henderson also refused a test the first time he was busted. There was lots of talk from Henderson after the first incident about fighting the charges, suing the state for something, I don’t even remember. But that never came to anything that I’m aware of.
As Pelissero points out, the Vikings stuck with Henderson the first time partly because Leslie Frazier was willing to stick up for him. Henderson sat down for two games after his initial arrest, leading to Audie Cole’s emergence at MLB.
Henderson returned as Will backer later, then regained his starting Mike spot after Cole was injured. Henderson’s play noticeably improved the last two games of the season.
But Henderson is now likely on his way out of Minnesota after this second arrest. Maybe Leslie Frazier will bring him to Tampa Bay once Leslie locks down that DC job under Lovie Smith.
Or maybe Tampa Bay won’t want anything to do with him either. Get your life straightened out Erin Henderson. Before you kill someone.
