The beginning of free agency meant a flood of signings all around the league, but none for the Vikings who likely have already made the splashiest move they will undertake this offseason by bringing back Everson Griffen.

So we wait to see what smaller moves the Vikes will make as the offseason progresses. Speaking of people who are waiting…

Jared Allen is waiting to see if the Denver Broncos will sign him up. But according to ProFootballTalk, unless Jared drops his salary demands, he might find himself waiting awhile.

As in forever.

PFT says Jared currently has no other suitors. Jared reportedly had several teams on his “wish list,” including the Packers. But not the Broncos.

Clearly, Jared and his agent knew the Broncos were the only team seriously looking at him and put out the “wish list” as a way of drumming up a market. John Elway is apparently calling Jared’s bluff.

As many predicted, the market for Jared is not as brisk as Jared might have hoped. There has been speculation that Jared might just retire rather than sign for low-end money or go to a place that forces him to become a backup.

Maybe another team will come out of the woodwork in coming days and offer Jared some dough. That’s probably what he’s counting on.

My advice would be to take the Broncos deal, whatever it is, and go for the ring.

But that’s easy for me to say, I don’t have millions on the line.
