Henry Melton‘s Magical Mystery Tour continues. The free agent defensive tackle has left Dallas according to ESPN’s Todd Archer, and is now headed to St. Louis.

Melton took visits with the Vikings and Seahawks before enjoying Jerry Jones‘ hospitality over the weekend.

Two ways of looking at this if you’re a Vikings fan. It’s bad news that he’s taking yet another visit, but at least he seems to be slowly circling back toward Minneapolis.

We’ll see how things go in St. Louis. I wouldn’t make too much of any reports that might come out of there on Melton being close to signing. We’ve heard that everywhere he’s gone, but he still hasn’t signed.

Either Melton is a man who believes in keeping his options open, or he just really likes traveling.

Never turn down a free meal, is what I say.

The Vikings have reportedly kept in contact with Melton throughout this process. Melton is being patient, and the Vikings can afford to be patient too.

It’s not like there are a bunch of other defensive tackles the Vikings are worried about losing while they wait for Melton. It’s pretty much all about Melton at this point.

They will wait this out and see what Henry wants to do. The Vikings are still in a great position if you ask me. They have the cap room to give Melton a significant offer and they have a defensive scheme that fits his skills.

Melton is getting a long look from a lot of teams, but there’s still a very good chance he lands with the Vikings.
