Twins mascot TC Bear routinely takes on luminaries in a home run hitting contest ahead of Twins games at Target Field. Normally TC Bear wins.

Saturday, he did not win.

Saturday TC Bear met his match in the form of Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson.

Fantastic work by the multi-talented Patterson. However, I have to ask: is it possible that Cordarrelle had an unfair advantage over the bear?

Is it possible that the bear was thrown off his game by Patterson‘s pants?

I mean look at these things.

Maybe I’m old, but pants aren’t supposed to be red. In my opinion there is a narrow range of acceptable pant colors. This runs from your blues to your blacks to your beiges.

White is acceptable but only if you are attending a regatta.

Flat out red pants? I don’t know. I realize Cordarrelle is young and wild and free but…I just don’t know.

I’m sort of bothered by the pants.

It’s cool that he beat the bear though. If you’re Cordarrelle Patterson, I don’t care what the contest is, there’s no way you let a mascot win.

Patterson is my first pick if there’s an all-Vikings softball team. For sure.
