The 2014 draft isn’t even here yet, but a lot of Viking fans are already looking ahead to 2015, when a pair of QB prospects will become available who are arguably better than any of the players in this year’s crop.

One of those two QBs is already putting together a nice collection of red flags for people to worry about come next year’s pre-draft process.

FSU’s Jameis Winston has a Heisman trophy on his resume, but he also has a rape investigation (that, according to the New York Times, barely qualified as an investigation). You can now add shoplifter to Winston’s rap sheet as well.

Per multiple media sources, Winston was arrested Tuesday and issued a citation after allegedly shoplifting crab legs from a Publix.

A misdemeanor shoplifting citation by itself is no cause for real alarm. I mean, it’s stupid, but it’s no stupider than ninety percent of the stuff college students get up to on a regular basis.

Add the shoplifting citation to the alleged rape stuff though and you have the beginnings of a pretty healthy “reasons to avoid drafting this guy” file.

Winston certainly will still get serious consideration as the #1 overall pick in spite of the growing number of red flags. That’s just how talented he is.

Most expect either Winston or Marcus Mariota will be the first QB off the board come next May’s draft. If the Vikings have a bad enough season, they will be in position to grab one of those guys.

Some fans, having grown irrationally enamored of Mr. Winston despite his red flags, will no doubt begin an oh-so-hilarious Twitter hashtag routine to advertise their completely absurd and unfounded infatuation.

#WiltingForWinston? Yes, it will be a thing. I can’t wait.
