It’s looking more and more bleak for fans who want the Vikings to address their ancient QB issue with the #8 overall pick.
The majority opinion has been slowly sliding over to the defensive side in recent days, and now it’s hard to find anyone who will mock a quarterback to the Vikings in the first.
But there are still a few hold outs. Like Gil Brandt who posted this on Twitter:
The Blake Bortles-to-Vikings ship has taken some serious damage lately but it refuses to sink. Gil Brandt is still manning the pumps. He still thinks he can keep that thing afloat.
When the draft finally rolls around later tonight, will the final torpedo be fired into that particular ship, rupturing the hull and sending it twisting and tumbling to the bottom?
Or will the Vikings go completely against conventional wisdom and select Blake Bortles as the man to lead them heroically into the next stage in the franchise’s long, storied and star-crossed history?
Hey, we’re actually in the home stretch now. You can almost see the finish line from here. The draft is approaching. The anticipation is building.
And I need a nap.
