Who Should Retire Randy Moss’ Jersey Number?

There may not be a more polarizing figure in Minnesota Vikings history than Randy Moss. Some folks love him for his freakish ability on the field and his larger than life attitude. However, many others can’t stand him because of his tendency to take plays off and let his mouth get him in trouble.

With the recent news of the Green Bay Packers not retiring Brett Favre‘s #4 jersey this year, it got me wondering about the fate of Randy Moss and his #84 jersey with the Vikings.
Since Moss moved on from the Vikings for the second time in his career, his number has been given to current wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson. As a rookie, when Patterson took over that number it seemed as though Randy Moss was not pleased with the decision. He actually went on record as saying that it was disrespectful for Patterson to wear the number 84 jersey for the Vikings.
Aside from the ego included in that message, there is also a bit of silver lining. His words showed that the #84 jersey for the Vikings has a special place in his heart. As well it should, because he as put up some awesome stats while wearing that number.

There could be an argument made for the New England Patriots to retire his number since his team led by Tom Brady nearly won Super Bowl 42 if not for a freak catch by David Tyree that allowed the New York Giants to keep the game alive.
So, which NFL Team do you think should retire Randy Moss’ jersey number?
