Matt Asiata

You just assumed after the Vikings drafted Jerick McKinnon in the third round that McKinnon would be installed as the #2 running back and Matt Asiata would have to battle just to stick on the roster. But right now Asiata is the clear #2 back behind Adrian Peterson, while McKinnon looks like a guy who is struggling to find a role. Asiata gives the Vikings a little more insurance if Peterson gets hurt, and he’s winning tons of praise for his blocking and receiving skills. McKinnon has a place on this team, but Asiata is the better all-around player at this point.
