At one point I thought Felton was in some serious trouble but now I only think he’s in mild trouble. Even though he is just a one-dimensional player, strictly a blocking back who contributes zilch as a receiver or runner, I think the Vikings might keep Felton around.

For one thing, Adrian Peterson likes having Felton block for him, and you can’t discount that. For another thing, despite all the talk about Zach Line being a legit contender for a roster spot, I’m not sure he’s done much to solidify himself. Line was the main competition for Felton but I’m not sure he has more value to the team right now.

When all is said and done, I think the Vikings play it safe with their backfield situation and hold on to Felton. He only does one thing but he does it well, and he’s Adrian’s guy.
