Sherels is the poster boy for the value of being able to do more than one thing. If Sherels could only play cornerback, he would have long-since been sent packing out of the league.
Sherels has hung on year after year by virtue of his ability to return punts. And because he’s been able to stick year after year and receive more coaching, he’s actually improved as a cornerback to the point where he’s a viable option as a #4 corner.
Adam Thielen may be the darling of Minnesotans, but Marcus Sherels, another man who played his college ball locally, is still the Vikings’ best punt returner.
