The first was the Minnesota Vikings vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Minnesota ended up kicking a field goal at the end of the 4th quarter to send the game to overtime. After losing the coin toss, Tampa Bay chose to receive the ball. Following a kick return by Trindon Holliday to the 25 yard line, the Buccaneers offense took over. Quarterback Mike Glennon tossed the ball to rookie tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins and gained approximately 10 yards before Vikings rookie linebacker Anthony Barr stripped the ball out of his hands. A jarring hit from from Harrison Smith helped remove the ball from the tight end’s grasp and Anthony Barr scooped up the ball. He rambled all the way to the end zone, scoring a walk off touchdown win for Minnesota.

The other overtime game was the Washington Redskins against the Dallas Cowboys. Third string quarterback Colt McCoy led Washington on a drive when he ran in a touchdown to give the Redskins a seven point lead. That lead wouldn’t hold though. Dallas capped off drive with a touchdown pass from Brandon Weeden to Jason Witten that forced the game into an overtime period. During that overtime, Washington got the ball first and drove down the field. That drive ended in a 40 yard field goal that Kai Forbath made. However, Dallas would get one possession to try to win. Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was unable to move the ball down the field, and turned the ball over on downs, ending the game with a Redskins win.
On Sunday, these two teams will go head to head. Both the Redskins and the Vikings will come into the game with underdog wins on the road the previous week. The question is, which team will have the most momentum going into Sunday’s game?
