Vikings Vs Redskins: 3 Bold Predictions

Today, the Minnesota Vikings take on the Washington Redskins.  The two teams enter the game coming off big overtime wins last week as underdogs.  They also have more in common than that.  Minnesota and Washington are both sitting at 3-5 records and are looking to get back on track before their bye week.  A victory would put the winner back in the hunt for a possible playoff run while the loser will fall to 3-6 on the year.

Expect this to be a highly competitive game that is very fun to watch.  Here are 3 bold predictions of things to watch for in the game between the Vikings and Redskins.

RG3 is sacked twice…by Everson Griffen. Everson Griffen will be matched up against Trent Williams at left tackle for the Redskins.  So far this season, Williams has only allowed 2 sacks on the year according to The Washington Post, but he’ll face a player with a non-stop motor in Everson Griffen.  Look for Griffen to get around Williams early and often.

  • Minnesota scores three takeaways.  A rusty Robert Griffin III in a hostile environment is a great recipe for miscues and mental mistakes.  Expect to see Griffin attempt to force the ball to receivers when he is under some pretty heavy pressure from the Vikings front 7.  I’m thinking two interceptions and one fumble recovery on the day.
  • Chase Ford has a big game.  If you watched the game between Washington and Dallas, you saw Dez Bryant get abused by Bashaud Breeland to the tune of 4 defended passes.  The Vikings may struggle to find some success when targeting wide receivers, so look for Minnesota’s tight ends to get some love today.  Look for Chase Ford to accumulate over 70 receiving yards and find the endzone at least once in the contest.
