After the news that Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson agreed to a plea deal in his child endangerment case, fans everywhere are excited about figuring out when the star player will return to the football field.
There are many variables in determining when or if this will happen.

First, the NFL will hand down their suspension to Adrian Peterson. When NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell makes the decision on taking Peterson off the Exempt/Commissioner’s Permission List, expect the man in charge to also say the amount of time Peterson will be suspended. While some fans are hoping that the running back will face only a 6 game suspension, it could be more considering his offense involved a minor and he also admitted to drug use while away from the team.
Still, if the suspension ends up being 6 games, Adrian Peterson could find himself back on the football field as soon as week 11. That would happen if Peterson is allowed to relinquish the paychecks he earned during his time on the Exempt/Commissioners Permission List.
However, if Adrian Peterson is not allowed to do that, he would find himself sitting for at least 6 more games. That would effectively put an end to his NFL season.
While we wait for more details surrounding Peterson’s looming suspension, odds are that Vikings fans will continue to wonder when he will be able to return to the field and help his team out. Hopefully, we learn more about this soon.
What do you think will happen with Adrian Peterson’s suspension? Will he return for week 11? Will it be later in the season? Or will he miss the remainder of the year? Discuss it in the comments below.
