Jerome Felton switching shades of purple?

It’s certainly a reasonable possibility if we speculate way past surface level into one offseason tweet. It will be a long Vikings offseason so let’s do it anyway.

Former Vikings fullback Jerome Felton tweeted Saturday during the Ravens-Patriots playoff game that “I love kubiaks offense!!!!!” He further elaborated that he likes it so much because “they run the ball and set everything up off of it.” You can read the tweet in full below

I’m sure a powerful bruising fullback would love such an offense, something he hasn’t done a lot this year under Norv Turner. Felton took only 173 snaps this year according to Rotowire, way down from his 2013 total of 277 and his most bountiful season, 2012 where he had 396.

Felton has said he will opt out his his contract this year but also hasn’t ruled out coming back with the Vikings. If the questions in the Viking backfield continue I would not expect Jerome’s snap count to increase and could very plausibly force him to change his scenery.

Another interesting thread in this story is that Gary Kubiak’s contract with the Ravens is up after this year. If Kubiak were to leave and become an offensive coordinator somewhere else or even a head coach Felton could follow him starting in 2015.

Of course this is a lot of information to glean off of one tweet (his profile description does still read “Minnesota Vikings fullback) and snapcount but I believe it’s possible borderline probable Jerome Felton could be in a different shade of purple with the Ravens in 2015.
