Someone in Duron Carter’s camp is doing a good job drumming up a market for the former CFL receiver.

A couple weeks ago Carter himself declared that he favored the Vikings as an NFL landing spot. Now a report says the Colts and not the Vikings are the front-runner to land the one-time Montreal Alouettes standout.
Carter has worked out for multiple teams including the Vikings, Colts, Browns and Chiefs.
Speculation says Carter could command as much as a $100,000 signing bonus, which would be a big signing bonus for a guy coming out of the CFL.
Given all the conflicting reports about Carter’s preferences and who is the front-runner and what not, I wouldn’t be surprised to see that signing bonus nudge up a little higher.
Carter can’t sign until February 10 so there’s plenty of time for him to schedule more workouts and get more teams involved in this process.
The talented Carter is seen by some as a potential #1 receiver in the NFL. The Vikings are looking to add more talent to the receiver mix without having to break the bank on a big-name free agent like Larry Fitzgerald.
If the Vikings do sign Carter, it would represent quite a loud message to former first-round pick Cordarrelle Patterson. If Patterson‘s demotion to the bench behind former practice squad WR Charles Johnson didn’t already send that message clearly enough.
