4. Danny Woodhead is a versatile weapon

Little hard-nosed Danny Woodhead is the kind of player who can give a defense fits.

Just when you think you’ve got San Diego stopped, here comes Danny Woodhead on some kind of screen pass, dodging through tacklers and diving past the marker for a first down.

Woodhead is absolutely the kind of guy who makes you want to rip all your hair out and eat it.

I kind of wish the Vikings had a scat-back like Woodhead. Jerick McKinnon wants to be that player but he doesn’t have anything like Woodhead’s combination of water-bug nimbleness and lunch-pail grit.

The Vikings’ defense needs to keep its eye on Woodhead and make sure they tackle soundly, because he can make you look like an idiot.

I guarantee you there will be at least one play on Sunday where the Chargers are in a tough down-and-distance and they get the ball to Woodhead some way or another and he manages to get a huge conversion. It’s what he does.
